RATINGS

Here are the guidelines for my ratings. I rate books from 1 STAR to 5 STARS. You can expect an in-depth reasoning behind my ratings in my reviews as well as a TL;DR at the bottom of the blog post (soon!) as a summary to why I've rated it in such a way.


1 STAR 
It wasn't my taste. The plot or the idea wasn't objective. 

2 STARS
It was okay. Perhaps half the time I only have vague ideas of what was happening. It could also be because as much as I understood the plot of the story, the writing style wasn't my cup of tea or the execution of the story wasn't well done.

3 STARS 
The book was decent. Nothing stood out, it wasn't memorable.

4 STARS
It was good. Overall good writing. Keeps the readers interested. Just could be improved in a few areas.

5 STARS
Amazing book. Will perhaps purchase a copy of it to keep (if it is an ebook). Executed the story really well. Clear description of what was going on. Would probably recommend.

JUNE WRAP-UP

The month of June has been absolutely wonderful! I've not read as many books as I had in May, however, most of the books I've read were worthy of 5 stars. I've dipped my toes into the world of sci-fi, it was a huge step for me since I've always stayed comfortable in the land of Fantasy. REVIEW: The Peculiar Life of a Lonely Postman by Denis Thériault

The Peculiar Life of a Lonely Postman by Denis Thériault Get it  here BOOK SUMMARY: Bilodo lives a solitary daily life, routinely completing his postal rounds every day and returning to his empty Montreal apartment. But he has found a way to break the cycle—Bilodo has taken to stealing people's mail, steaming open the envelopes, and reading the letters inside. And so it is he comes across Ségolène's letters. She is corresponding with Gaston, a master poet, and their letters are each composed of only three lines. They are writing each other haikus. The simplicity and elegance of their poems move Bilado and he begins to fall in love with her. But one day, out on his round, he witnesses a terrible and tragic accident. Just as Gaston is walking up to the post-box to mail his next haiku to Ségolène, he is hit by a car and dies on the side of the road. And so Bilodo makes an extraordinary decision—he will impersonate Gaston and continue to write to Ségolène under this guise....

MAY WRAP-UP

The month of May was the beginning of my blog. I've been wanting a space to write down my thoughts as well as to share the books that I've read for a long while now. I'm glad to say that the month of May may have been the most progressive month when it came to reading. A whopping total of 7 books! Here are the books that I've read in May, in no particular order 1.  The Colossus Rises  by Peter Lerangis I remember getting this book when the author, Peter Lerangis, visited my school. I was only 13 then and it was the first time in a book signing event. The first time I read this book, it was rather disappointing, I could not understand what was happening and I was so lost the whole time. 5 years later, I picked up this book again to give it another chance.
